What is Content Marketing?
What is Content Marketing, and why is it important to you?
Industry folk love to throw around buzzwords. The latest word that people cannot seem to stop using is content marketing. What the heck is content marketing, and why is it causing such a ruckus? The funny thing is, content marketing isn’t a new concept. John Deere developed their customer magazine the Furrow in 1895, which now has a circulation of 1.5 million. In 1904 Jell-O began distributing its free recipe book, which contributed over $1million in sales by 1906. Content marketing is literally one of the oldest tricks in the book.
What Content Marketing is, is literally creating and distributing your own content. The obvious end result is profitable customer action. A successful content marketing campaign establishes you as an expert in your field. Its primary focus is to build a relationship, not the hard sell. In order to do this, content marketing must be 3 things; relevant, interesting, and consistent.
Traditional advertising no longer works, which means businesses, need to work actively to not only capture the audiences attention, but also to engage with the audience. The number one result of your efforts is brand awareness. This leads not only to customer conversion, but also creates customer loyalty. Which will not only leave you with a loyal following but with consumers who are passionate and connected to your brand.
